Battlefield 1943
The release of Battlefield 1943 on 8th July 2009 bought much anticipated excitement to the online gaming world.
This online multiplayer game is set around the Pacific fight between the US Marine Corps and the Japanese Imperial Army in World War II, and covers 3 unique Islands, each with different landscapes, scenery and maps.
In your team of 12, you fight your way through each Island, capturing enemy bases and once you have secured them all, your team is declared the winner.
The game can only be bought via download to either your Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 console at present. You can buy the game on the Xbox 360 for only 1200 Microsoft gaming points.
The game creators have made a 4th location in the Pacific called Coral Sea and is set to be an Air Superiority Game, where you can take to the skies as a pilot in this aerial battle and prove once and for all you can be the next Maverick or Iceman!
At the time of writing the community kills for the xbox360 are 41,458,172 so not long to go until the launch of Coral Sea Island.
Having played the game most of the weekend, and only having a 1 Meg internet line and the game play is seamless and fluid. The textures and scenery are exquisite on a HD TV, but to play you must have Gold Membership on the Xbox 360.
PC gamers don’t worry; the download is due for release in September 2009.
